Oh yes!

Duelist101 quoted:

Our team included a storm wizard with 113% damage as the hitter, a balance, a life and a myth wizard.  Based on our calculations, anything over 80%+ damage would suffice (although more is always better!).
Many thanks to Sierra and Valdus for their help brainstorming and testing the strategy.

Challenge accepted. Ethan Jadeshade, Christian Dawnblade, Sierra Fairyfriend and Grace Rainsmith will be tackling Castle Darkmoor when they hit Exalted status(right after Khrysalis, mind you, Malistaire the Undying's statement just before battle would make little sense if we didn't beat Morganthe.)

New Adventures Await! (Test Realm 2014)

A brief update for those wondering. I am sure you people who play Wizard101 know about the Test Realm - it appears whenever KI is ready to update their game. Well, recently we have gotten some teaser videos and pictures showing new content. A new world?

Not really, but it's like Aquila - Halloween candy that is meant to tide us over until the Christmas Feast that is a new world. Now making a new world is a challenge - you have to raise the Level Cap and give new spells and what not, so I think KI is testing things before they create a new world with a Level Cap of 110 or so and that's fine with me. I haven't finished Khrysalis yet!

So there are four new dungeons added to the various worlds of the Spiral which expand them and they have a Level minimum.
  • When your Wizard reaches Level 25(the same level Ambrose summons you to unlock Wysteria), Major Talbot in Krokotopia summons you to go visit a realm of Mooshu called Shangri-Baa, a Nepal-like mountain village.
  • When your Wizard hits Level 45, you're summoned to Marleybone to help the famous detective Sherlock Bones with another mystery and get to actually explore Barkingham Palace, the home of the Queen of Marleybone!
  • When your Wizard reaches Legendary Status at Level 60, old Alhazred calls you to help deal with a mysterious package and you are whisked to the House of Scales.
  • Finally, for those Exalted Wizard(the current max level), Dworgyn, acting Death Professor of Ravenwood, summons you to deal with something in a sinister place called Castle Darkmoor. The world of Darkmoor and its supernatural elements have shown up again and again in Pirate101, so this is the first time the name has been mentioned in Wizard101.
Like Aquila's instances, free-to-play players can rent the dungeon for 495 Crowns for six hours and try before they buy. I am expecting these dungeons to be as big as Miranda in Pirate101.

There is also a new spell awaiting each school. However, before you get an orgy, there are several restrictions to getting them:

(1) They are Shadow-touched spells that cost five regular pips and one SHADOW pip, so you can't get them if you've not reach Khrysalis yet.

(2) Not like you could anyways as you need to complete Castle Darkmoor which I mentioned above, so you have to be Exalted Level to get these spells!

However, they are pretty nifty spells that give benefits - the Death spell is an area-of-attack drain over twice as powerful as Scarecrow, and the Life and Ice spells place a shield on the caster after doing damage. These are pretty powerful spells to say the least, and give you an excuse to burn Shadow Pips that you aren't going to use anyways. Also several lore spells get an upgrade - Brimstone Revenant places a hex on the foe and Catalan places a accuracy debuff, it's like a mini Storm Dragon!

Sadly, I haven't be able to buy anything on their site so I cannot access the Test Realm. It doesn't matter anyways as I can't keep the items I get, so I have to wait until it goes live, which usually doesn't happen for a week at the least. *le sigh* Ciao for now!

A few things about the Earn Crowns option in Wizard101

I am sorry that I haven't updated this blog; I don't think I will update this blog again due to how invested I am in the Frugal Conjurer. However, I did want to note a new update to Wizard101:

There is a new option in the Advanced Gameplay options - an Earn Crowns option. Turning it on will make an icon appear next to the Crown Shop icon. Click it...

And you get this screen. Clicking on the button...

Will give you a Youtube commercial for you to watch. If you watch it fully, you will get 10 Crowns...

But you can't abuse the option as you'll get this screen. I don't know what causes this to happen - for one of my accounts, I was able to watch ten videos before I got this screen, but the others only got to watch one video. I thought it was you could only watch ten videos a day, but it might be you can only do this for all your accounts so if you watched ten videos on your first account, the others are barred until the next day. Needless to say, you can't just keep spamming this option to earn a ton of Crowns.

But still, remind you of something?

Yep, it's the same as the quizzes in FreeKIGames.com! Needless to say, with the quizzes you can earn up to 110-200 Crowns a day. Doing the math, you can earn up to 770 Crowns a week, enough for two Hoard Packs! With that said...

Seriously? Ethan got friended by a guy called Angel Stormhorn, who asked "Do you have any Crowns?" That's the Black Omen that the next question is "Can you gift me XXXXX?" Ethan spent the entire fight with Zarathrax playing verbal insult pong with this jerkwad because Angel asked "How old are you?" and when I told him, he laughed at me and called me stupid. :(

Can we agree to note that Angel could have earned SEVEN HUNDRED FREAKING CROWNS in the week he spent bumming other players for gifts? All he had to do was cheat on the quizzes(which is very easy to do since FreeKIGames doesn't bar right-clicking on a selected bar of text so you can Yahoo Search for the answer) and he could use the Earn Crowns option to watch some commercials and earn more. Trying to friend strangers and ask them about their Crown status is bad policy.

Yes, I apologize for stuffing another rant this Halloween, but people must understand that this game is meant to be fun and begging for Crowns is neither fun for the beggar or the person being bummed. The person who has a lot of Crowns doesn't throw them away, he uses them himself.

That said, I wish you guys a Happy Halloween 2014, and may you farm Baron Mordecai before this Sunday when he locks his tower up for the year. Cheers! ^_^

MY FIRST EXALTED WIZARD! CELEBRATE! ^_^

Seriously, who uses Insane Bolt??? The name says it all!!!
The one who made it all possible.

I want to thank Anna StormGem for helping me defeat Hisser - whose cheat gimmick wasn't actually as bad as I thought[the worst it did was 294 damage] - and once I talked to Dyvim Whiteheart just afterwards, bam! She got those last EXP to hit Level 100!

She also got an awesome drop - the coveted Level 95 Ice Deckcase! After seeing Blaze Lifehammer give up on farming Quartermaster Rackum for his Level 95 Life Deckcase after several battles, I am tempted to thumb my nose at him but I am civil. I guess I was rather lucky after holding off on fighting the guy. Anna, I'm sorry, I promise that once Sierra Fairyfriend gets to Fort Rachias, she'll try to help you out later. But...

(does the happy dance) My first Exalted Wizard on Wizard101, hit Level 100 at 1:00 PM, August 9, 2014, approximately one year after she was created. Wow, time flies when you're having fun!

Here's to Amy, who wasn't my best wizard (I used henchmen a lot) but she was great to play. I hope Sierra, Grace and all my other wizards have the same fun experience as they reach Level 100. ^_^

Ciao!

Date and Time of reaching Level 100: 1:00 PM, Aug. 9, 2014
Last Boss Defeated: Hisser
Current place in the Story: Khrysalis, Fort Rachias

My apologies for not updating...

Amy: "Hello? Anyone? Pls? I'll give you cookies if you aid me and that's a Sailor's honor!"

Well, Amy's pretty much stonewalled because of Hisser, so she's stagnating right now(and none of my other wizards can port in to help her), and she's less than 100,000 EXP from Exalted Status! Sheesh! The problem is I can't find anyone to help me while everyone is farming the Morgie clones in the Shadow Palace and doing the Galleries. :(

Amy is my highest level wizard and nobody else has even reached Zafaria yet, which kinda tells you something about my Wizard101 playing. ;_;

So, my apologies if I don't update this blog often. I am pretty busy with Sierra right now. I am not abandoning the others, it's... just taking a while. (I will have my other wizards join Sierra as guest players to replace Grace or Christina if need be when we get to Celestia.)

Just a little explanation of what's going on. I'll give an update eventually. In the meantime, check out The Tightwad Conjurer for something more exciting! Ciao for now!

Amy: "Oh thank Kami-sama!"
NVM...

Merry Christmas! ^_^ (A history of my early characters)

Well, it's that time of year again when we celebrate Yuletide... no, I am not cray-cray.

(I don't own this picture.)
Every year at this time, KingsIsle has a "Christmas in July" festival. I'm sure you've seen other Christmas in July festivals going on on TV or other places; it's reverse psychology which is done to beat the heat; if your mind sees Santa and Jack Frost surfing on the beach, then you think it's winter and your mind thinks "cold" instead of "hot." It's a futile attempt. Also this is sort of a nod to the fact that people down under are beating the heat instead of making snow angels in December.

I love Christmas, mainly because December is my favorite month - while it ends the year, I get presents twice; once on the 6th which is my birthday, and another time at Christmas. Yes, I grow a year older but I'm still young at heart enough to gush over the cool stuff I get every year, even if it is just a bunch of gift cards. 6_^

Also, yesterday was my first Wizaversary - aka the day when I first created my account and began playing Wizard101, July 24 2013, back when I was in a group home. Yes, I have been playing Wizard101 for a full year now. I have uninstalled the server a couple of times, but I came back every time. This is my favorite MMORPG series and Pirate101 is too. I got a minor health elixir gift which Grace barely got to use but hey, it's the thought that counts. ^_^

For the rest of this month, KingsIsle is giving a free code for a holiday item, and holiday items are in the Crown Shop for the time being. Also, expect to see the Commons in festive decor.

But you probably are curious as to what's being going on in my main account, since it was the first account and the master account, so here you go - first off, as I said in the Tightwad Conjurer recently, Amy got through the Broodmother fights and the Eclipse Tower(the latter with a couple of wizards played by one guy, thanks Justin!) and now has Shadow Sentinel and will forever have that shadow fog at her feet for the rest of her life. She also bought Shift Dread Paladin, though it will bust her traps and blades - planting a universal trap on a boss in nothing to sneeze at. She's taking a break now as I want to get Grace, Monica and maybe Mindy to catch up with her, but at least she's closer to Fort Rachias now.

Grace is helping Sierra get through Mooshu if you've read my other blog, and the others are still on hiatus - I thought about deleting Esmee but I think I will try to stay with everyone. They can help my Dreamers on Christina's file get through Marleybone. :)

(Don't own this pic either.)
As a Xmas gift to you, I'll give you a little backstory on my wizards on my main game - yes, they are all girls and I am a guy; this is not a perverted action. When I was in high school, I was a fanboy of the Sailor Moon series(which I heard is getting a reboot; go ahead and tease me), and five of my wizards were emulations of the five inner circle of Sailor Scouts, but I deleted the Sailor Moon counterpart and replaced her with Esmee, who was the Sailor Saturn counterpart, as I was more fond of Hotaru than Serena. (I watched the dub.)

I did Powerpoint presentations of each wizard's journies(which I have saved on a flash drive, but my current setup doesn't have Microsoft Office). The last wizard, Grace, was a nod to another series, a book series by a guy called Alexander McCall Smith, which told the story of a woman native to Botswana, a place in Africa, who is a detective. The name comes from another character, Grace Makutsi, who is Precious Ramotswe's assistant and secretary and represents diligence and hard work. I was so moved by those characters - even though there was nothing supernatural in the books at all, and the struggles were basically real-life struggles like depression and worry about infidelity - that I had to represent them in my game and Grace was the result(and an excuse to use the dark skin, which I never used for my characters). I've been trying to recreate the story of Grace's early life which I have on Powerpoint, and will create a new blog to tell the early story when I get that done, or something like that.

Amber's story was a bit interesting - she was a wizard on my first account, but was studying Balance. I had a big epic story about how she was born on Earth and unloved and bullied by snobbish girls in high school and how, through her spell quests, she finds out that the snobbish girls fell prey to their own vices and ended up... well, it was crazy and after getting beaten by Chester Droors, I got tired of her and deleted her, but I decided to revive her... and her resurrection made her follow Death instead. I have a Pirate101 character whose story is connected to hers, but that's for later.

I didn't take photos of my first wizards and the ones of Amber as a Sorcerer were lost to time save two. :(

I actually started my Wizard101 career with a male Ice Wizard after hearing Christina Icedreamer on Ravenwood Radio (which I listened to religiously) harp on how awesome Steal Ward was, but I got bored with those first few wizards and deleted them before finishing Krokotopia.

So there you go, folks. The story of my Wizard101 beginnings. I hope to be nostalgic for many many years to come as I create new wizards and my old ones reach Khrysalis and retire... of course, knowing old KI, they'll probably have Amy and the others start work on a new set of worlds which are even nastier than what you find in Fort Rachias! Oh my! :O

Have a great Wizard101 Christmas in July, everyone! I'll keep updating my other blogs but this one will be more of minor highlights for my main account and sub-account with Sierra on it. Also, I have a few young wizards in Christina's file waiting to get going, which I'll play with in August. Ciao!

Amy's thinking of retiring! (Oops)

I come, hat in hand, to apologize for not updating this blog for three months. The main reason being that I've been playing Pirate101 for a while and updating all my other Wizard101 blogs. It's hard to maintain several blogs at once. The second reason being, well, I've been focusing on Sierra and Christina Dawnblade, who I created for my second sub-account during May. She got to Dragonspyre very quickly. Christina is my "Walkthrough Pilgrimage" wizard who is following Zenmaster Blue's footsteps through the game. Go read his full game walkthrough, it's cool. ^_^

But that doesn't mean I won't delete this blog. So here comes a long-need update!

After two months in Free-to-Play hiatus, the Sailor Wizards are back in action, but mostly Amy Mistcloud, who managed to complete her final crafting quest, so now she can go to the Sardonyx and craft those cool new wands...

Amy: "You totally suck ****s, Morgie." *flips her the bird*

If she can ever get there before the one-month time runs out! *rage quit to infinity* It's gotten to the point where not even SHE can solo the bosses as they have too many cheats, too much HP, and ra*e her before she can set up an attack. Oh yeah, not that cute little creature as her pet?

Amy: "No chance of happening..."
Amy: "It's my sidekick now! I love that casting animation!" ^_^

After many many struggles, she got to Level 98 at long last and got the pet quest for the Lord of Winter pet. It was much easier than fight any boss in Khrysalis, just fight a couple of Pomero Spirits in the Floating Mountains, a little struggle but not too hard. *sigh* Anyways, I should just wait until the holidays, when I have a wizard on one of my other sub-accounts gains the Spiral Key to Khrys. :(

(Yes, I could do Tart runs to upgrade her sub-par equipment to the Hades gear, but honestly, getting to Hades is murder and takes an hour in real life and it's all based on luck and how fast you beat him. :( )

Esmee: "Good, I must have the Krokomonicom, or else you will die." *creepy grin*

That's about it, the other Wizards on my main account and first sub account save Sierra are on hiatus, though I did get Esmee to Marleybone. Maybe I should pass the time to get those wizards up to par...

Or just blow up pirate ships in Port Regal's skyway. Still need to destroy 10 Armada ships. Oh well...

I've decided to just update only if I get something cool happening. With a 4-hour morning workshop taking me from the house coming up on July 28, leading to a possible job that keeps me away from the house maybe every weekday, I won't have much time to play Wizard101. But I'll try. Ciao for now!
