Not really, but it's like Aquila - Halloween candy that is meant to tide us over until the Christmas Feast that is a new world. Now making a new world is a challenge - you have to raise the Level Cap and give new spells and what not, so I think KI is testing things before they create a new world with a Level Cap of 110 or so and that's fine with me. I haven't finished Khrysalis yet!
So there are four new dungeons added to the various worlds of the Spiral which expand them and they have a Level minimum.
- When your Wizard reaches Level 25(the same level Ambrose summons you to unlock Wysteria), Major Talbot in Krokotopia summons you to go visit a realm of Mooshu called Shangri-Baa, a Nepal-like mountain village.
- When your Wizard hits Level 45, you're summoned to Marleybone to help the famous detective Sherlock Bones with another mystery and get to actually explore Barkingham Palace, the home of the Queen of Marleybone!
- When your Wizard reaches Legendary Status at Level 60, old Alhazred calls you to help deal with a mysterious package and you are whisked to the House of Scales.
- Finally, for those Exalted Wizard(the current max level), Dworgyn, acting Death Professor of Ravenwood, summons you to deal with something in a sinister place called Castle Darkmoor. The world of Darkmoor and its supernatural elements have shown up again and again in Pirate101, so this is the first time the name has been mentioned in Wizard101.
There is also a new spell awaiting each school. However, before you get an orgy, there are several restrictions to getting them:
(1) They are Shadow-touched spells that cost five regular pips and one SHADOW pip, so you can't get them if you've not reach Khrysalis yet.
(2) Not like you could anyways as you need to complete Castle Darkmoor which I mentioned above, so you have to be Exalted Level to get these spells!
However, they are pretty nifty spells that give benefits - the Death spell is an area-of-attack drain over twice as powerful as Scarecrow, and the Life and Ice spells place a shield on the caster after doing damage. These are pretty powerful spells to say the least, and give you an excuse to burn Shadow Pips that you aren't going to use anyways. Also several lore spells get an upgrade - Brimstone Revenant places a hex on the foe and Catalan places a accuracy debuff, it's like a mini Storm Dragon!
Sadly, I haven't be able to buy anything on their site so I cannot access the Test Realm. It doesn't matter anyways as I can't keep the items I get, so I have to wait until it goes live, which usually doesn't happen for a week at the least. *le sigh* Ciao for now!
