Update schedule is buggy

Again with the apologies - I am busy busting my gut to get Platinum on the copy of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix, so I haven't been playing Wizard101 much. Between Kingdom Hearts and Animal Crossing, I haven't found much time to play the MMO. Not like it matters much - I've been having the worst luck with finding people to join me in dungeons. (If I do get someone, they usually let me down in a critical moment - I've had to abort several Tart runs because one of the players fled or said they'd come back and never did. I know they were probably logging off and couldn't complete the dungeon, but let's be reasonable here!

Anyways, onto the news of the wizards I did play - I didn't play Chris Storycrafter this time around as I am waiting for Mindy to reach Stormriven, where he is right now.

Amy: "Lay it on me, brother!"

(1) Amy go through a bunch of boss fights... and got defeated by the Royal Guards in the next area because they spamming critical hits and Amy has ZERO Critical Block for Balance. (Her armor only gives her crit block for Ice and Storm.) But she did get a helmet from the Bazaar that was better than her Jura Helm so she stitched that into her hairdo. She also got Miss Orio, that nice pet with Spell Proof and Spell Defy, to Ancient... and it got a Selfish Talent which will corrupt any possible hatches. Ugh, I always get a selfish talent on my pets! Maybe it's better just to use the Talented Piggles. :(

At least, now that Khrys Part 2 is live, Amy got her final Crafting Quest from the mouse house in the Silent Market. On the nice side, she only needs the Comet Tails... which are only available on the beach just past Fort Rachias. Yep, she has a LOOOOONG way to go. (I could have someone give her a port there but even so, I have no idea what sort of item I would have her craft, and the recipes would probably be insane.)

(2) Amber FINALLY got to Celestia, completing the Forum and then running through the Great Spyre with a couple of strong and loyal allies, a pyromancer and a diviner. (Which is good as she can't do jack to Malistaire with Scarecrow.) Her reward? A Crate of Chickens and zero Malistaire Robes. She blew all of the remaining crowns on the Second Chance Chest and got two Malistaire Fire Robes. Thanks, jerkwad.

Amber: "Are you KIDDING ME?!?!" >_<

Speaking of jerkwads, the Loremaster finally dropped a spell and a second for Amber... Brimstone Revanent and then Handsome Fomori. Yep, the Fire Lore and one Ice Lore, NO DEATH LORES. At least Amber got a ton of healing treasure cards which is good as she burned the Stone Roses training point on Giant to upgrade her enchant cards at long last.

Sorry, don't have a picture of Monica's garden.

(3)The gardens of Couch Potatoes on both accounts are  doing swell. I got another game card and redeemed it for ten thousand crowns on my InnyBoy account, so Monica burned 2500 of the Crowns on some Evil Magma Peas so we can get started on the REAL Mega Snack garden which will be giving her a ton of gardening EXP. We need to get the gardeners to Level 11 at least.

That's about it. I plan to get this week to update the story of the Tightwad Conjurer - she and Grace are now in Marleybone but I would like to get them through Vigrid Roughland so they can get that done with as they are nearing the level they will get their first Erik Windrune spell, and the Raven boss is going to be a ***** to defeat. Ciao for now!

Tying up loose ends

I apologize for not updating the blog for a while, but I was very busy. Here is what I want to share with you:

(1) Amy did a few Tart runs (and got the same gear over and over again, much to her chargin) and go through Xibalba and reached Khrysalis... only to discover that you have to do the first two boss battles solo, which really sucked. I tried twice and eventually got lucky with my cards, took out the annoying Pained Spiders before they destroyed Amy again with Critical Stormzillas, and she survived the Critical Ras and Sandstorms enough to King Artorius Zaltanna's buggy chitin. So now she's in the Moon Cliffs, trying to con the Bee Army into letting her through to the Last Wood to reunite Deyvin Whitehart with his people. She did manage to solo a boss, the Goliath Slasher, but it was very tough and she was dropped to less than half her max health. She also did the Message side-quest and got her fourth and final potion bottle! Woo!

(2) I went on a Bunny Mount hunt, farming the various bosses to see if they dropped the Storm Rider hare - no dice so far, and Eggbert's leaving soon so I may have to bribe my folks so I can get to Gamestop and buy a game card to get Crowns fro the Prismatic Bunny mount instead. I have gotten a lot of bunny wands though. Chris Jadehaven is the only one who can farm Krokopatra as the others are at Level 30, which means they can only get the mount from Meowiarty and nobody is close to that guy yet. Sierra did a few Mt. Olympus runs and got the Senator's sandals from Zeus, but no Zeus armor. Oh well. (shrugs)

(3) Chris Storycrafter did rerun the Great Spyre and Malistaire(the living one, spoilers!) and FINALLY got the last mandatory piece of his Grandmaster Gear... and he's Level 59. *sigh*

Didn't take any pictures of the fight with Krokopatra, sorry.
(3) And FINALLY got progress on Esmee and Chris Jadehaven - both have defeated Krokopatra and can now go to Marleybone, though I'll have to have Esmee do all the Tomb of Storms sidequests she skipped because I was hoping she wouldn't hit Level 30 before she beat Krokopatra. No dice. Also, Chris Jadehaven didn't start Grizzleheim or Wysteria yet, so he's at Level 27. I want to try to farm Krokopatra until she drops the Bunny Mount. Oh one more thing...

(4) My neglected fire Sailor Mars, Rachel Soulpyre, NEVER WENT THROUGH SUNKEN CITY. My run with her corrected that oversight, having her and Amber work through the place to defeat the foul Grubb. They also defeated the Krokotopian Chamber in the Entrance Hall, finally. Loose ends are still there but I'll tie them up eventually. Sorry, Sailor Mars. I know you and Esmee haven't been played much but neither has Chris Sunmancer or Chris Dragonwhisper - they're still stuck in the Pyramid of the Sun. :(

Ciao for now!

Cold Front (Amy's Return)

AMY: "Nope, but I'm going to end you, witch."
Yep, finally got around to renewing pre-paid time for my original wizards, the Sailor Scout Wizards. With Khrysalis being completed either this month or May, I wanted someone to enter Khrysalis, so I decided to finish up Azteca with Amy, my strongest Wizard(she is currently Level 94, just one from the current cap thanks to all those quests she did.)

First thing she does? Rechallenges Hades the Unseen in hopes of getting a good drop. She  made a couple of new friends in Tartarus, and even got an Echanted Armament pet hatch from the necromancer, who was also a nice guy. ^_^

(EDIT) I did Grub Guardian once Monica grew some Couch Potatoes (right after Amy reached Xilbalba) and... Holy cow, BOTH resistance talents!!! Thank you, whoever hatched the pet with Amy. I am so sorry I forgot your name! ;_;

She also got Zeus' Hailstone Bolt - yeah, now Monica isn't the only one wielding a lightning bolt!

AMY: "Thank you, now prepare to be punished!"

Amy also managed to win against the dreaded 3rd Belloq, thanks to stacking her side-deck with Dark Sprites and spamming them on the crooked elephant-man while the other three she teamed up with buffed up and did big hits. One of the Grim Chalacas managed to stun everyone with Frost Giant so Belloq got ONE uber Ra in, but that was all he got in before Lord of Winter finished him off. ^_^

(She teamed up with another Ice Wizard, a Life Wizard, and a Death Wizard.)

Why did I put this... oh yeah, Chris Jadehaven FINALLY got to the Tomb of Storms. NVM.
AMBER: "Sqee! Another bobblehead!" ^_^
I made Amy gift another Knight's Lore pack to Sierra for her helping distract the bosses in the well in the Floating Mountains so I could have Amy finish the Zeke scavenger hunt in Azteca so now both accounts have only enough Crowns for one more stitch. Chris got a Sunstone - he is holding off so he can get the Grandmaster crafter quest completed - he needs five more Sunstones - and Amber got a Gamma bobblehead for her growing collection. :)

After a few sessions, Amy FINALLY got to Xilbalba, but I decided not to tackle that dungeon to end Azteca until Amy had better stuff - considering that we have four very nasty boss fights in a row, this is NOT a dungeon to be sneezed at! Ciao for now!

Amy: "If you sing THAT song, I'm gonna kill you... oh wait, you're ALREADY dead by my hand." *raspberry*

Amber does some Work (and more Chris stuff)

I wanted to point out that I did try to work with one of my other Chrises, Jadehaven, but I didn't have the heart. :(
Here is a short update of the stuff I did yesterday, leading up to 1:00 AM today. Basically, it was partly progression for Chris Storycrafter and mostly Amber Rainbow, my Necromancer.

Eat sunlight, Loremaster!
Eat sunlight, Malistaire!
GIVE ME A BREAK!!! >_<
Chris did a run of the Loremaster's battle and the Great Spyre as I was hoping to get the Grandmaster Balance tunic, but I got Ice instead. Urgh!

I did get something cool - I accidentally stumbled into a pylon boss which I thought another guy was fighting Celestian Remnants, and Thunderfin dropped this athame, which is the one Chris had but it gave a 10% power pip chance. It's good because I didn't get the Gurtok athame.

Chris got the quest that starts Wintertusk but I didn't want to do that just yet. Then Nicholas Nightdust had to get rescued from a later Celestian boss so Chris got to read the next Zodiac Tome.

Finally, Chris FINALLY cleared Briskbreeze Tower, thanks to a Promethean Necromancer whose strategy is "Critical Hit Deer Knight and Scarecrow on everything." That strategy helped take out Angus Hollowsoul before he could summoned any of those evil Embers, but Orrik's proc cheats made it very hard to win and I had to flee to heal. Dungeon Recall is a godsend as I didn't have to run all the way back to the ally and helped her finish that evil jerk off. Good riddance! Right now, Chris is in Stormriven - we've cleared the Floating Land with him.

As for Amber, she's finally reached Yeva Spiderkeeper (whose hat she is sporting, it was stitched to something else) and Chronius in the Crystal Grove. Yes, I went through the annoying Dragonstaff collection quest, and helped some Diviners clear the Labyrinth.

Thank you, Jason Stormcaller. You are one of the most polite players I have EVER met. ^_^

I end this post with this screen and the chat that one of the Diviners gave - he asked if he could finish off the Dean, I said yes, and he replied with THIS. I am so proud, he's one of the few nice people I've met online. I think this is why Wizard101 is so much better to me than those other MMORPGs - it almost is mandatory that you work together and be civil.

Well, Ciao for now. I hope to get in some more work the rest of this weekend.

I'm Walking On Sunshine! Yeah Yeah! ^_^

I know I said I would work on Sierra FF to get her to Celestia and my paid time is almost half-gone, and now that I have no job again(don't ask) the money I am getting is all I am getting, unless my folks forgive me for quitting my job. (That's my problem.) However, I wanted to try to get the 8-Pip Spell Quest done for someone other than Amy as everyone else as below Level 58...

WAS is the keyword here.

Yep, my avatar hit Level 58 and, after a failed attack on Briskbreeze Tower, I was able to get the 8-Pipper solo boss defeated. It cost me a Mander minion and 200 Crowns for a Life and Ice Hench (luckily the Level 80 Life Henchman was on sale due to 101 Anniversary to 101 Crowns) but...

Oh my Lord Arceus, it was SO worth it. ^_^

Oh...
Heck...
YEEEEEEEEEAH! EAT IT!!! ^_^
Oh yeah, and I also got Chris Storycrafter through the Floating Land with Solar Flare. After watching the Death Battle on Screw Attack between Superman and Goku, I was in no doubt in awe by the power of the Sun. After all, it's Superman's power source!

Sorry for the short update. I'll try to bring out something with more meat to it later. I'm going to try to give up Sims 3 for the rest of Lent to try to focus on getting my other Wizards up to their next world. My hope is to see Chris Storycrafter reach Zafaria by the time the Test Realm goes live and Khrysalis part 2 and all its amazing stuff comes out in Wizard101 for reals. Ciao for now!

EDIT: I forgot to add the Level 98 Pet for guys like Chris here - Sorcerers get a mini-Sabertooth. I don't think it'll replace Chris's Polar Fox. :p

Why I hate Clouds (or actually, my thoughts on the Test Realm which I will never get to play)

(EDIT: I made a fix to the shift spells as the first thing I saw them, I only saw the Storm card. I didn't see the pictures on the other cards clearly. Blaze Lifehammer shows all the Shift spells off here. I have edited the descriptions of the morphs to match. Sorry.)

I was freaking out recently as my computer was lagging horribly, I thought I had doomed my second computer to death like I had my old one and my parents will punish me for ruining it...

And then I discovered the cause of the slowdown - I had downloaded an updated RealPlayer(which is the only media player I use) and it updated with a cloud server. For those wondering what a cloud server is, I don't know much myself except that it TAKES UP 92% OF MY COMPUTER'S MEMORY. *shakes fist in rage* I shut it down and it fixed the problem.

Chris: "What is this Khrysalis place? Maybe Amy Mistcloud knows..."

Anyways, on to happier news... the test realm you guys have all been drooling over for months has finally arrived, Khrysalis, Part the Second! I have played a bit with my avatar, Chris Storycrafter, to get him through the District of Stars(but I had a bit of trouble with the three Avatars of the Brambles as nobody was interested in playing in the Grotto, I managed to solo Cuthalla with a lot of damage and jumped in on Ulgark just as someone else did the deathblow, but nobody wants to help me fight Eeglis) until the server shut down for 'minor maintenance." Yeah right, buddy, we're onto you. :p

As expected, KI did not disappoint and here are my thoughts on the new content to come. Sadly, I cannot test it out as I am "Free to Play"(game cards don't count as actual subscriptions) and the Test Realm is only open to subscribers or people who bought something from KI online, which I can't do as credit cards are evil soul-sucking corporations. (Sorry, had to say it.)

(Khrys Part 2 is three major areas but that's it. Well, Khrys Part 1 was pretty large, and these areas are probably going to have more content in each than the whole of Celestia, yikes. After all, it's the final chapter of Morganthe's terrorism, where we hopefully punish her in the name of... okay, I already did that reference in the Lost Pages quest, nvm.)

First off, as expected, the level cap is now a whopping Level 100! Yes, we've reached Pokemon Level Caps now! Of course, you all EXPECTED that, right? ^_^ The final title(if rumors are true, that means KI is not going to stop at Level 100 and may stop at Level 200, but come on, eventually they have to pull the plug and say "Okay, that's it, no more experience for you demigod wizards!") is Exalted. Dictionary.com defines 'exalted' as "raised or elevated, of high station or character." Yeah, I think KI is running out of ideas for title names, so maybe we should back off a bit. <_<

My first glimpse were the new pets. Yep, just as you guys get a Level 48 pet, a Level 58 pet, and a Level 78 school-based pet, you get even MORE school-based pets!
  • Thaumaturges are going to get their very own chibi Lord of Winter! Amy is going to (bleep) hard when she see this - LoW has become her favorite boss-slayer and it looks much cuter than that stupid crud Ice Wyvern's she is STILL dragging along because of its talents. 9_9
  • Pyromancers will get a chibi Sun Serpent. I like the Sun Serpent, his spell is no-freak-with-me cool, and I think it will fit my Shinto Priestess Rachel Soulpyre as a sidekick superb, and definitely for my Fire Chris, as his surname IS Sunmancer, of course. ^_^
  • Diviners will get a chibi Leviathan. Great sidekick for Chris Dragonwhisper, not so much for Grace(who will die rather than abandon her 'secretary' Siren), but still cool.
  • Theurgists get a Dryad. Meh, probably my least favorite of the lot.
  • Conjurers get my favorite pet of the lot, a cute Super-Deformed MEDUSA! I've been hoping for a pet like this! Medusa is my favorite Myth spell!
  • Finally, Necromancers get an Avenging Fossil dino. Meh, no comment. Amber will prefer a Shadow Beast.
Since school-based pets usually have a pet card of their nature(the Wraith pet gives a pet Wraith card), then I don't mind these pets - all of their spells are pretty decent even if the attacks cannot be enchanted and will help out in a pinch.

We also have something interesting... Shadowforged weapons! Yep, those cool staves are going to be made obsolete by weapons that have may-cast talents!!!! It would be cool to have a weapon that randomly casts Balanceblade. ^_^ They are also crafteable weapons which means that... Amy's not done with the crafting quests.

Amy: ;_____;

Yep, she'll have to talk to Oztomeca again to be sent to Khrysalis's Silent Market to get her next crafting quest, but once she completes it, she'll be a Promethean Crafter and be able to create Shadowforged weapons that kick @$$. ^_^

Third up are the new spells. First of these is a new category of Moon spells. Before they were just transformations which are okay but not my style... but now there are Moon-class spells called "shift magic", which are still transforming spells, but instead of locking you into a weak form for six turns, they make you into one for a single attack and you perform that creature's attack. They are Promethean level but I think it'll make Amy a lot more than a one-trick pony. They are:
  • For Fire, you shift into a Grendel shaman and do an attack similar to a buffed up Fire Elf which inflicts an accuracy debuff, which means that the poor soul is going to have a bigger chance to fizzle their next spell.
  • For Ice, you turn into a Dread Paladin(a mouse man with horns) which inflicts a sort of trap on the opponent which increases damage by one of three amounts. In other words, you plant a negative ward that works like Hex or Curse! Amy will be much pleased that she can support now.
  • For Storm, you turn into a hammerhead sharkwoman who steals a pip with her attack. Nice!
  • For Myth, you turn into an ugly ogre that hits and shatters all blades and shields on the target. This is like a mini-Earthquake which targets, meaning you don't have to anger your entire group by destroying THEIR traps. ^_^
  • For Life, you become an insect wizard and smack them, then you get a free Balanceblade! Awesomesauce!
  • For Death, you become a Sugar Glider(a mouse wizard) who does damage and places a Weakness AND Infection on the foe. Two bad curses for the price of one! ^_^
  • And finally, Balance gets a Thornpaw lioness straight from Zafaria who gets a free +10% pierce and +10% accuracy, like casting Precision and Dragonspear on yourself for free!
This is going to make the game much more frantic and PvP will become more challenging.

There are no new Level 98 School Spells (I think that the professors have exhausted their repertoire) but each school will get a special field spell(think Balefrost or suchnot) which, instead of increasing damage, increases piercing and critical hit rate for that school of magic. Of course, field spells give the enemies the same benefit but it's pretty nifty. You DO have to be Level 97 and do a quest but at least Chris Storycrafter will get a field spell he can use after he gets to that level. Also, I was told that the old field spells have been upgraded but I'll find that out later when the content goes live.

And finally we get new Shadow spells. Instead of making you a freak abomination, these spells summon a shadow monster to your side. Instead of backlash, these creatures hang around for four rounds and doing things that oppose their nature will make them weaker and doing things they like makes them stronger, then they attack at the end of the duration and do damage which has effects based on what their nature is. There are three kinds, but we don't know who will get them for free.
  • Dark Shepherd: At the end of the duration, he'll do a life drain attack. This is great for those non-necromancers who want a life drain spell.
  • Dark Fiend: Does an area attack. This is awesome. This is the wish of many schools(like Life and Death) who don't get many area attacks!
  • Dark Nova: Does a single attack, but oh BABY, what an attack! It can cap at 1600 damage, which is more than most of the ultimate school spells do! Boss-slayer.
Oh yeah, Castle Tours has a new feature based on the games you can play in the houses, but that's chicken feed compared to the awesomeness we're going to get! Woooo! ^_^

Please tell me your thoughts - do you think that KingsIsle is finished with Wizard101 and 100 is the highest level we'll ever get? What do you think of the new content? Let me know!

Next time, I'll try to get a proper update. Ciao for now!
