Merry Christmas! ^_^ (A history of my early characters)

Well, it's that time of year again when we celebrate Yuletide... no, I am not cray-cray.

(I don't own this picture.)
Every year at this time, KingsIsle has a "Christmas in July" festival. I'm sure you've seen other Christmas in July festivals going on on TV or other places; it's reverse psychology which is done to beat the heat; if your mind sees Santa and Jack Frost surfing on the beach, then you think it's winter and your mind thinks "cold" instead of "hot." It's a futile attempt. Also this is sort of a nod to the fact that people down under are beating the heat instead of making snow angels in December.

I love Christmas, mainly because December is my favorite month - while it ends the year, I get presents twice; once on the 6th which is my birthday, and another time at Christmas. Yes, I grow a year older but I'm still young at heart enough to gush over the cool stuff I get every year, even if it is just a bunch of gift cards. 6_^

Also, yesterday was my first Wizaversary - aka the day when I first created my account and began playing Wizard101, July 24 2013, back when I was in a group home. Yes, I have been playing Wizard101 for a full year now. I have uninstalled the server a couple of times, but I came back every time. This is my favorite MMORPG series and Pirate101 is too. I got a minor health elixir gift which Grace barely got to use but hey, it's the thought that counts. ^_^

For the rest of this month, KingsIsle is giving a free code for a holiday item, and holiday items are in the Crown Shop for the time being. Also, expect to see the Commons in festive decor.

But you probably are curious as to what's being going on in my main account, since it was the first account and the master account, so here you go - first off, as I said in the Tightwad Conjurer recently, Amy got through the Broodmother fights and the Eclipse Tower(the latter with a couple of wizards played by one guy, thanks Justin!) and now has Shadow Sentinel and will forever have that shadow fog at her feet for the rest of her life. She also bought Shift Dread Paladin, though it will bust her traps and blades - planting a universal trap on a boss in nothing to sneeze at. She's taking a break now as I want to get Grace, Monica and maybe Mindy to catch up with her, but at least she's closer to Fort Rachias now.

Grace is helping Sierra get through Mooshu if you've read my other blog, and the others are still on hiatus - I thought about deleting Esmee but I think I will try to stay with everyone. They can help my Dreamers on Christina's file get through Marleybone. :)

(Don't own this pic either.)
As a Xmas gift to you, I'll give you a little backstory on my wizards on my main game - yes, they are all girls and I am a guy; this is not a perverted action. When I was in high school, I was a fanboy of the Sailor Moon series(which I heard is getting a reboot; go ahead and tease me), and five of my wizards were emulations of the five inner circle of Sailor Scouts, but I deleted the Sailor Moon counterpart and replaced her with Esmee, who was the Sailor Saturn counterpart, as I was more fond of Hotaru than Serena. (I watched the dub.)

I did Powerpoint presentations of each wizard's journies(which I have saved on a flash drive, but my current setup doesn't have Microsoft Office). The last wizard, Grace, was a nod to another series, a book series by a guy called Alexander McCall Smith, which told the story of a woman native to Botswana, a place in Africa, who is a detective. The name comes from another character, Grace Makutsi, who is Precious Ramotswe's assistant and secretary and represents diligence and hard work. I was so moved by those characters - even though there was nothing supernatural in the books at all, and the struggles were basically real-life struggles like depression and worry about infidelity - that I had to represent them in my game and Grace was the result(and an excuse to use the dark skin, which I never used for my characters). I've been trying to recreate the story of Grace's early life which I have on Powerpoint, and will create a new blog to tell the early story when I get that done, or something like that.

Amber's story was a bit interesting - she was a wizard on my first account, but was studying Balance. I had a big epic story about how she was born on Earth and unloved and bullied by snobbish girls in high school and how, through her spell quests, she finds out that the snobbish girls fell prey to their own vices and ended up... well, it was crazy and after getting beaten by Chester Droors, I got tired of her and deleted her, but I decided to revive her... and her resurrection made her follow Death instead. I have a Pirate101 character whose story is connected to hers, but that's for later.

I didn't take photos of my first wizards and the ones of Amber as a Sorcerer were lost to time save two. :(

I actually started my Wizard101 career with a male Ice Wizard after hearing Christina Icedreamer on Ravenwood Radio (which I listened to religiously) harp on how awesome Steal Ward was, but I got bored with those first few wizards and deleted them before finishing Krokotopia.

So there you go, folks. The story of my Wizard101 beginnings. I hope to be nostalgic for many many years to come as I create new wizards and my old ones reach Khrysalis and retire... of course, knowing old KI, they'll probably have Amy and the others start work on a new set of worlds which are even nastier than what you find in Fort Rachias! Oh my! :O

Have a great Wizard101 Christmas in July, everyone! I'll keep updating my other blogs but this one will be more of minor highlights for my main account and sub-account with Sierra on it. Also, I have a few young wizards in Christina's file waiting to get going, which I'll play with in August. Ciao!
